Here's a painting done in Gouache.  I recently started using gouache to see if I would like the medium. as it turns out I love it.  As a watercolor-est for many years I felt this medium would handle  well for me and it did.  I painted this one on poster board, finished with a spray varnish so there's no need for glass.

"Greener Pastures"

Here is my latest watercolor of the pasture where I graze our horse Gabe.  While grazing, I was taken in with the view before me and decided I wanted to capture this scene.  I started it as soon as I got home that day.  The original is 7" x 21" on 300# Arches paper.  I have since had this copyrighted and can now offer this in a Giclee format in many sizes such as 5 x 15,  6 x 18, 8 x 24.  Please allow an extra 3 days to have a print made for your needs.  You may buy the Giclee directly from me.  Or you may purchase the original from www.DailPaintWorks.com

This is an oil painted at the 4th. Annual Umpqua Plein Air Painters Competition.

Lithia Creek with PASSO group Aug. 16-15

Today was about as perfect as it can get.  Great friends and perfect weather.  It was attended with Janis Ellison, Patti and Stan Hagan, Paul Brown, Constance D. Painting took longer than expected as many visitors stopped by to offer condolences.

Giclée Prints of my art work

For my customers who would rather have a Giclée print of a piece, I offer many of them in Giclée format. They are printed at Harmonic Design and Imaging, on museum archival quality paper/canvas, sealed in acid free clear cellophane, packaged in a envelope, or rolled into a tube your preference and sent USPS and insured. They come with a Certificate of Authenticity and serial numbered in sequence with limited editions. Please allow two week lead time to print and prepare the art for shipment. If I have one in stock it will ship within 3 working days (excluding holidays).

Now you can just click on the art piece you want to purchase.  PayPal is an option but you may also send a check for the amount + s/h (if applied) As soon as your check is cleared, I will post your art piece with USPS.  I include a certificate of work with each piece. I no longer send frames with paintings unless it states it has one (usually small works i.e. 5x7, 6x8).  The frames for those are mostly made by me and I make the art look floating within the frame. if you desire not to have a frame please say so and I'll remove it before I send it.

"Hinging On Time"

I always look for interesting thing that tells a story.  This hinge said a lot to me, hanging there per-carelessly, against the barn door, waiting for time to eventually rust that screw away and let it fall. 
I painted this in full size on 140# Arches French made watercolor rag paper.

Henery's Vineyard

This is Henery's Vineyard.  A warm September day.  The sunlight was intense and shadows were strong.  While painting it I noticed some movement between the vines.  There was a house/farm cat plating between the vines, stalking grasshoppers.  Can you see her?

Welcome to my new blog

I have never had a diary in my life and don't intend to do so now but I would like to let my art viewers know who I am and the direction I want to take my art.  It may take a while for this to grow to something worth looking at but I'll get it there.
I am retired from 30 yrs. of Federal work. I had put my art life on hold until my kids were on their own.  Since I was a kid I had a pencil in my hand.  My friends would ask me to draw a horse head for them or army tank etc.  Later in high school I started painting on cars for buddy's, adding cartoon characters on the windwings on cars (some of you won't know what those are). Seems like all my life I have been interested in expressing myself in an art form.  Now I am doing it and wished I would have started earlier.

I have tried many mediums but work in watercolors and oils.  You will see my "style" differ in some work but so does a persons handwriting. I have been very successful in selling these last few years and use only the best materials available. I am fond of Plein Air painting but also delving into still life also.
